Vilamoura Marina achieves 5 Gold Anchor Platinum certification

Published on

Vilamoura Marina, in the centre of the Algarve, has just become the first marina in Portugal to receive the ‘5 Gold Anchor Platinum’ certification accredited by The Yacht Harbour Association, the highest distinction in the industry. The Association helps boat users find good quality marinas and help marina businesses improve their services and operate to high, modern standards.

The distinction was achieved through a rigorous auditing process including on-site assessments, compliance with local and regional regulations, member satisfaction surveys, concierge services and premium facilities.

The marina shone for its ambience based on building design, facilities, accessories and other first-class features; its customer service through the dedicated concierge team that caters to the needs of owners, guests and crew and quality facilities, providing a luxury experience for its guests.

There are only 10 marinas/harbours worldwide that hold this certification and now Portugal is part of the elite.

Isolete Correia, Administrator of Vilamoura World, said "this certification reflects the level of the offer and the quality of the infrastructures, as well as the constant work and dedication of the entire team involved, whose efforts are entirely focused on providing excellent service."

In 2019 the marina was distinguished with an award for the ‘Best International Marina of the Year’ and nominated as the ‘Best in the World’ in 2021. More recently, in September 2022, it was voted ‘Best International Marina’ at the Southampton International Boat Show.

Modern, lively and sophisticated, Vilamoura has developed around its marina and is today one of the most luxurious leisure resorts in Europe.
