Most Portuguese residents reside in houses, as opposed to other Europeans who reside in apartments.  In addition, a majority of these residents live in limited living quarters, per the most recent Eurostat report that surfaced this week.

Per this European report, which was released on Wednesday, it talks about the findings that were made when the living environment of the EU was researched back in 2009.  It reports that during 2009, forty two percent of the Portuguese residents lived in unattached homes, 35.4% lived in apartments, twenty two percent lived in terraced homes and 0.2 percent lived in other structures that were never intended to be utilized as homes, such as schools.

The same report indicated that most of the other European residents reside in apartments.  This number was 41.7 percent, while 34.3 percent reside in unattached homes, twenty three percent reside in terraced houses and 1.1 percent in another kind of structure.  In Latvia, the most frequent form of living quarter is the apartment.  In Slovenia, the most frequent form of living arrangement is the unattached house. On the other hand, the most common form of living arrangement for most Dutch and British residents is the terraced house.
