Background

Frederico has been living in the Algarve for the last 5 years, specialising in the tourism, real estate and after sale industry. Combined with his 13 years of experience in Lisbon in various administrative and logistic positions, Frederico is a versatile and proactive real estate professional who has a complete understanding of the real estate market and service industry in the Algarve. Having lived in Africa, Singapore, Venezuela and the USA, Frederico fell in love with the Algarve and his globetrotting days are now over, as nowhere, is there any climate or better people to live with than in Portugal. As he says, “slow” is not so bad, it is what holidays are all about…the best, but slow down. Enjoy those moments that take your breath away, and then get back to the “fast”

What do you like most about the Portugal and the Algarve?

Freedom came to the Portuguese in the form of the The Carnation Revolution, also referred to as the 25 de Abril, was a left-leaning military coup started on 25 April 1974, in Lisbon, Portugal, that effectively changed the Portuguese regime from an authoritarian dictatorship to a democracy. This was the first bloodless coup in history and it defines what Frederico most admires about Portugal and its people. Its capacity to understand future events, in lieu I imagine to its role in navigating and discovering the unknown, and bringing the world closer as a whole. Resuming, no matter how hard it gets, the Portuguese make the sacrifices necessary, non-violent, but vocally. It is a safe and inviting environment full of multicultural people ☺

Frederico feels this unity constantly, in all the Portuguese he meets, their warmth, curiosity to know more and the want to embrace other cultures. Nowhere else is that feeling strongest, than the Algarve, from where the original sailing ships that defined sailing routes still used today. The best of the Algarve is the fisherman´s bar on the beach, where you can still feel the connections to the horizon, from the local  people to the foreigner’s that come to energize themselves from history and the children of the explorers

What do you like to do when you are not working?

As everything in life, after a while you see things differently when you own a property in the Algarve. Living in paradise slows everything down. It feels good to enjoy the ripple in the pool, the calm and quiet of the water underneath without the shouting and yelling of the summer ☺ The beach is your playground, our dog can chase the Frisbee freely and we can play football without intruding on tourists during the off season. We enjoy the promotional mini-breaks and discover every other month a new town or cove or countryside retreat to relax and take in nature. Never too far are a few good books and my handy tennis racket as I follow my wife in her search for the perfect wellness solution ☺ Off the coastline lies a wealth of natural beauty, including lake fishing, radical recreational sports and spectacular natural parks that sometimes are overlooked, but guaranteed to offer a diversity of activities for the more nature adventure seekers!
