Portugal in Europe's top 10 for foreign investment

According to the latest EY European Attractiveness Survey, Portugal has secured its place among the Top 10 countries in Europe for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), ranking 9th overall with 186 investment projects announced in 2025.
Portugal also achieved an impressive 8th place for job creation, generating 11,591 new jobs and reinforcing its appeal as a dynamic and growing economy.
The report places Portugal slightly above the European average for investment intentions and suggests investor confidence remains positive about the country's prospects. More than six in ten investors said they expect Portugal's attractiveness to improve over the next three years.
Portugal’s performance has been particularly noteworthy in sectors driving the digital economy. In 2025, the country ranked among the Top 5 European destinations for AI and Data Centre FDI projects, highlighting its growing importance in digital infrastructure, innovation, and next-generation technologies.
