Here’s your sneak peek into some of the Algarve’s most vibrant festivals and parties in late August and September - a time when culture, tradition, music, and beachside celebrations come alive!
Fatacil in Lagoa is one of the leading events in the country. It is the largest generalist fair in the Algarve. For ten days, the municipal park in Lagoa plays host to tens of thousands of visitors, attracted by the diversity of the exhibition with stalls displaying crafts, gastronomy and agriculture. 180 artisans from across Portugal give live demonstrations and sell unique one-of-a-kind gifts. Each day culminates with a different artist performing live at night.

White Night in Loule, on the last Saturday of August, is hailed as the farewell party of the scorching Algarve summer. There is a whole night of partying in the streets of the city centre, which has been decorated in white and all visitors to the event are asked to dress – yes, you guessed it – in white! There are bands, jugglers, street theatre and chill-out areas with DJs. The festivities bring together thousands of people on what is a truly magical night.

Festival F in Faro is a cultural initiative that brings together established and emerging artists from the Portuguese music scene. The event features a wide range of other activities, including get-togethers, stand-up comedy, plastic and performing arts, handicrafts and street food. The Vila Adentro, Faro's historical nucleus, makes Festival F the most beautiful festival venue in Portugal, as it combines the historical heritage with the proximity to the Ria Formosa Natural Park. A unique and irreplaceable location!
