Porto de Mós is the second largest beach in the Lagos region, it lies 4 km to the south west of the main tourist centre and makes for a pleasant alternative beach that is set amidst steep cliffs and lined with soft golden sands.
It faces a south-westerly direction and it is the best beach for surfing/body boarding. Other main advantage is that it is always significantly quieter and less crowded. It is a family friendly beach that provides clean bathing waters and is lifeguard supervised during the summer season. The main entrance to the beach is at the lowest point of the cliffs and the access is suitable for all with no stairs or steep slopes.
There are two good beach restaurants/cafés, the Restaurante O António and the CampiMar Restaurante Bar, both able to serve up a filling lunch or hearty meal after splashing in the sea.
