The resort has two pools, a natural swimming lake with a mini beach, 4,000 m2 of fragrant gardens and a vegetable garden with seasonal strawberries, melons, watermelons, peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes and chilli plants. Scattered through the fields and gardens are vines, citrus, pomegranate, fig, carob, almond and olive trees. All the fruits and vegetables are produced organically. Growing on the private patios and throughout the gardens, there is fresh mint, oregano, thyme, sage and other herbs for use in cooking.

Nearby is the town of Olhao which is 650 years old very un-touristic and lively. It is a Moorish-looking old town, with a crumbling, charming and faded centre and cobbled pedestrian streets full of shops, cafes and markets - including the best fish market in the Algarve.
