Porto da Cruz is a rural parish in the municipality of Machico, with a strong connection to viticulture, sugar cane and bananas. It is surrounded by an astonishing forest patch, in part Laurissilva, a UNESCO heritage site. As it is close to the coastline, it has a mild temperature throughout the year, with an annual average of 21º. In summer it is around 26º.

An ex-libris of this locality is Penha D'Águia, an imposing well-known rock, the dividing point between Machico and Santana.

The villa is a 5-minute walk from the beach, the bathing complex, with its beautiful ocean pool and the seafront promenade of Porto da Cruz, from where you can enjoy the incredible view over the hillside, the sea and the beaches.

Along the promenade, you will find Alagoa beach, with black sand, which is a hotspot for surfing and bodyboarding and is located right at the bottom of the imposing Penha D'Águia. A little further on the coast is the beach of Maiata, with black sand and pebble, it is also a hotspot for surfing.

When the house was built on this plot of land, it was thought out in detail. Enjoying the sunrise and sunset, which sets in the mountains next to Pico Ruivo, was one of them.

Another no less important detail is the view, where right in front, on the way to the pier, is the Fortim do Porto da Cruz, an isolated building of military architecture from the early 18th century, considered to be of municipal interest. On one side there is Alagoa beach flanked by the green and brown of the enigmatic Penha D'Águia and on the other side there are the swimming pools of the bathing complex and in the background Praia da Maiata. Around the house, there is the beautiful cutout of the mountains and escarpments that line the island.

The entrance is entirely covered by a trellis of vines that produce the famous Porto da Cruz grapes, excellent as table grapes or for making wine and which, at the time of maturation, lend a unique scent next to the house.

Still in the town on the way to the pier is the "Engenho do Norte", this building of industrial architecture from the beginning of the 20th century, considered a property of municipal interest, is the only one in Europe that still works with steam to produce brandy/rum from the sugar cane from which the famous poncha of Madeira is made of.
