A villa designed by famous architect Bak Gordon with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, looking out to the ocean, located near Cascais and Sintra. Built in 1993, it has design interiors with mahogany floors and ceilings, polished cement walls, panoramic windows and wooden shutters.
This luxury villa on the Lisbon Coast has 5 bedrooms. There is a spacious cinema room with a projector - this room opens onto the pool terrace and garden to one side and to the other side, onto the indoor plunge pool with swim jets. The rear terrace has a built-in barbeque and fire pit - a great space for outdoor meals or just chilling, even on cooler days. Some design pieces to note at Villa Azoia include a glass cabinet by Siza Vieira and a sliding separator (serving hatch between kitchen and dining room) painted by Pedro Proença.
The property is set amongst 2,500 sq metres of all-fenced-in organic lawn garden bordered by colourful shrubs, enjoying dramatic views over Cabo da Roca (the most westerly point in continental Europe) and the Atlantic Ocean.
The charming villages of Almoçageme and Colares nestled between the Sintra Mountains and the coast, offer a range of artisan’s shops, fresh vegetable stalls and restaurants to choose from; whilst Sintra’s verdant and lush scenery is dotted with romantic palaces here and there, some open to the public. This is also a vine-growing region.
Beaches nearby include Praia do Guincho, one of Europe ́s most beautiful beaches, Praia Grande and Praia das Maças and these also feature a selection of seafood restaurants. One of our favourites, “Piscinas” is located at the village of Azenhas do Mar sitting on a dramatic cliff head position and it’s a not-to-be-missed experience.
There are numerous golf courses nearby (Penha Longa, Estoril and Oitavos to name just a few) as well as tennis and riding facilities nearby. Windsurfers and kite surfers will be enticed by the world-famous Guincho beach hotspot just a few minutes drive south from the villa and surfers by Ericeira beach, a little further north.
Other attractions in the area include the Casino do Estoril that inspired Ian Fleming to write the first of his 007 books and a world-class Marina at Cascais.
