Homely Central Lisbon

On one of the seven hills of Lisbon, the residential district of Campolide is rich in the splendour of typical Portuguese architecture of the late nineteenth century. With its friendly streets, shops, numerous services, luxury hotels, a marketplace, its aqueduct classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and its vast parks nearby, it is one of the most atmospheric areas in Lisbon.

Here this project stands out, where its small belvedere rises up and the building´s pink plastering and paintwork, typical of Lisbon´s heritage, stands out. In a subtle harmony with the environment, this new residence with an intimate charm offers 28 apartments of types T1 & T2, with exterior space and an underground parking garage.

This project combines new construction with the 19th-century building that has been completely reconstructed. The 2 buildings are organised around a garden with trees of almost 200m2, consisting of both private and communal gardens.

The path between the communal garden and private gardens on the ground floor gives these apartments a villa atmosphere. The higher floors' balconies and terraces open the apartments to the exterior offering a peaceful view of the garden and the city.

The buildings will also have a private co-working space for the use of its residents. It will contain a private meeting room, an open space, sofas for relaxing on and a coffee space.

Sustainability is an important theme in the project, including windows meeting the latest thermal and acoustic codes, light-coloured black-out blinds that will provide solar protection to mitigate variations in temperature, Hydrocarbon separator tanks for garage waste water, solar panel installations on the roof for domestic hot water.

This building project is part of a desire to promote the Portuguese architectural heritage. The preserved and entirely restored existing building gives identity and strength to the contemporary programme.

Campolide benefits from the presence of Amoreiras shopping centre which combines a large variety of shops, leisure activities, restaurants and cinemas. Many education centres are present including the Lycée Français and the University of Nova de Lisboa, and also many tertiary services. The district is particularly well serviced by numerous metro, bus and tram lines and is also a short walk from Avenida de Liberdade, the charming boulevard of central Lisbon.
