Realtor - Algarve Region
Born in Lisbon, where I lived in a traditional “Alfacinha” neighborhood (Campo de Ourique), until I finished my higher education in Agro-Industrial engineering, in the beautiful and historic Tapada da Ajuda.
After finishing my studies, I came to live in the Algarve for Portimão, where I began to work and raise my family.
Professionally I started in 1992 as a Young farmer, with a project financed by the EU on a family farm in the municipality of Portimão, directly marketing the agricultural production. It lasted 8 years, it was very difficult because needed to scale. I changed my business and worked as a quality manager in a smoked fish factory in Portimão. After 6 years the factory was sold and I changed again. I looked for work, opened the newspaper, answered an advertisement and went to work for a national telecommunications company, as head of sales team in the Western Algarve for 10 years, it was good but very exhausting.
I studied English, however, I completed the General English 300 hours course at the Wall Street Institute in Faro, I had attended the Alliance Française in Lisbon, now I understand and make me understand myself in a more global group of human beings.
What do you like most in Portugal?
Whenever I return to the Algarve, I like to go by the rural roads and feel the smell of the orange trees, feel the sea wind from the top of a cliff, walk barefoot in the fine sand of the seashore, I like to hear the accents characteristic of each zone of the country , I like fado and “cantares alentejanos”. From the north of the country, I like to hear the bells in the distance in the silence of the landscape, the hospitality of the people, the good wine and the tasty and plentiful food. From Lisbon where I was born, I like my neighborhood because it is still a typical neighborhood, I like the modernity of some architecture, mixed with years of history and stories of kings, monuments and legends that are told, from the bright light reflecting the huge Tagus River, from bridge over the Tagus that brings me back to the Algarve, past the serene tranquility of the Alentejo and its castles, soups and hunting. From the blue of the sea of our islands, because it is a different blue. From the mild climate of the Algarve, fresh fish cooked only with coarse salt, ... I love Portugal.
