About the location:

Praia da Oura and Albufeira are packed with great restaurants, bars and nightclubs as well as plenty of shops, places of historical interest, and let’s not forget, many stunning sandy beaches. Much of the pulsating nightlife of Abufeira can be found on “The Strip”, which stretches for 2.5km from Praia da Oura, through Albufeira, to Montechoro. The Strip is very popular for its lively entertainment, with many bars, restaurants, and nightclubs where you can party the night away... and is only 800 meters away form the apartment.

The east of Oura beach, leading up to Pedra dos Bicos (a jagged rock formation that marks this side of the beach), is a quieter and more natural area, while on the western side of Oura, the visitors arrive at the sandy beach framed by relatively low cliffs, coming from the town’s narrow streets and small squares, full of inviting outdoor cafés and restaurants.

Albufeira offers more than 20 beautiful family friendly beaches, and most are Blue Flagged, reassuring the visitor of its safety, water quality and facilities. Santa Eulália and the central Fisherman’s beach are within easy drive, but you may also like to discover the beaches to the west, such as Galé beach or the intimate little coves, rock pools and gentle sands at Castelo, Coelha and São Rafael.

Discover Albufeira’s picturesque Old Town which offers an abundance of authentic local shops and restaurants, open until late, along the winding cobbled streets. The town square presents a backdrop of enchanting old churches, and the square itself is filled with a choice of excellent bars, live music bars and cafés. Wander through the tunnel, past the bell tower and through the old castle to the quaint Fisherman’s beach.

Balaia is the nearest golf course, only 5 minutes drive away, and a further 5 minutes drive west will take you to the beautiful 9 hole course of Pine Cliffs, host to the Portuguese Ladies Open in 1988. The keen golfers will be happy to know that some of the best championship golf courses in Europe can be found in Vilamoura, within a 10-15 minute drive to the east, including the Oceânico Victoria where the prestigious Portugal Masters is held in October every year.

A 15 minute drive inland will take you to the charming village of Guia, popular for its chicken piri-piri restaurants, and the Algarve Shopping, a modern shopping centre with an excellent array of shops, cafés and restaurants. You can also enjoy the dolphins, seals and sea lions shows at the nearby ZooMarine ocean park.
