About Evora
Evora is a beautiful city built in 1755 after the massive earthquake that destroyed Lisbon, and it would serve as an excellent vacation spot! As you probably know, Evora sits in Alentejo which is south of Portugal, and it does in fact serve as the capital of the Alto Alentejo Provice.
Evora is often considered to be one of the most dynamic middle age cities, and a number of critical decisions were made in this city. In addition to that there were quite a few royal weddings held in Evora, making it a rather romantic location during those times.
If you are thinking of visiting Evora for any reason then you will more than likely enjoy looking at the monuments built by major artists of the time, and their continued existence does a great job of demonstrating the amazing past and cultural influence that took place within the city of Evora. There are many different architectural styles present in Evora including Romanic, manueline, mannerist, gothic, and even baroque. There are a number of palaces and narrow streets that may not be considered important today, but in their time they were magnificent, and considered to be the height of architectural technology. That being said, you will certainly want to bring a camera to capture the artistic beauty of this city.
