Positioned on the western seaboard of the Iberian Peninsula of Europe, Portugal sustains a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers in the south, but unlike its Spanish neighbour, the country benefits from being refreshed by the effects of the cool waters of the Atlantic.

The mild climate and the friendliness of the Portuguese are major factors which encourage people to take up residence in Portugal. The Portuguese have naturally sunny dispositions, to match the weather, and their healthy life style is to be admired
