Beautiful Southern-Most Coastline

Algarve, the beautiful southern-most coastline in Portugal, has much to offer visitors. Known as Europe’s “West Coast”, the warm sea, temperate climate, and beautiful beaches draw tourist from around the world.

Recently, the Post Office Holiday Costs Barometer 2013 has released numbers that make Algarve an even more appealing place to visit. The cost of staying in Algarve has dropped by nearly 15% since the same price comparisons in 2012, making this one of the top holiday destinations.

A price comparison of the same items purchased in Algarve as opposed to 20 other holiday destinations makes Algarve the cheapest place the visit. A list of ten commonly purchased tourist items were compared: a cup of coffee, a bottle of local lager, a can of Coca-Cola, a 1.5 litre bottle of mineral water, sunscreen, and English newspaper, insect repellent, a pack of Marlboro Lights, and a three course meal with a bottle of wine were used as the indicators of price. The total cost in Algarve was {46.34, coming in first overall for affordability.

Whether it is a romantic getaway, or a family vacation, prices for holidays in Algarve have dropped considerably in the past year, making it one of the most affordable places to go and spend time with a family and dine out and vacation.

While the pound may have less value in Europe than it did just a year ago, the fierce competition has meant lower prices in many resorts, easily offsetting the falling value of the sterling.

The best way to get the most out of a vacation is to research resort costs, then add these to package prices and find the best overall price for summer holidays. Doing some “sterling” work and finding the best value can leave money for many of the activities offered in Algarve. It can be as simple as changing to a different resort within the same country, as prices can vary considerably from location to location.

When visiting Algarve, you are getting more than just a beach getaway. There is a rich history, with Moorish legends and castles. Diving and flying adventures around the beautiful coastline are enriching activities to discover the country from another perspective. Golf courses in Algarve are some of the best in the world, and much of the country’s nature has been protected from too much development.

Visiting Algarve provides the perfect vacation getaway without the huge vacation price tag. Saving money on the essentials leaves more available for the things that really make a vacation – the activities, tours, and shopping.

Algarve offers everything a visitor can need, all for a lower price than even the next country on the list. Schedule your next holiday today and make sure you will be able to experience all the beauty and history Algarve has to offer.
